In 1835, the Liangjiang Governor-general Tao Shu went to Beijing for reporting his work to the Emperor Dao Guang. He told the Emperor that there was a square stone at the center of a pond in his hometown in Hunan province, which was shaped like a seal and so called "Yin Xin Shi (the Mutual Affinity Stone)" and his father built a small house on it for reading books. The Emperor was interested in this story and presented Mr.Tao Shu his handwriting of "Yin Xin Shi Wu(the House of the Mutual Affinity Stone)" . After returning, Mr. Tao erected the stone tablet in the garden of the Liangjing Governor-general Yamen, carved with the Emperor"s handwriting on it. |
